Thanks to your donations, we have succeeded in presenting our case to the Courts. In addition, the company behind the development, Envirofusion, have now VACATED the premises on Alfreton Rd
Whilst this is really positive progress, we still have the matter of the planning permission to deal with, as planning permission remains for an incinerator to be established on this site
Our specialist legal team are currently challenging this permission in the Court of Appeal, but, to continue to fight our case, we MUST raise a further £6000
We need to raise this sum before the end of August, to help us to overturn the planning permission (granted by Derby City Council), so that NO OTHER company can use the site for this type of development
That’s just 300 households each donating £20 – WE CAN DO THIS!
This is a local campaign, affecting local people
Why do we want to stop this ‘test’ incinerator?
HEALTH & SAFETY –there are very real risks of explosion and fire - putting at risk the lives of people living and working in the area
EMISSIONS & POLLUTANTS - the technology has never before been tested therefore there is no assurance that this site will not be pumping out noxious and potentially lethal fumes
HERITAGE & ECOLOGY – this site is on the boundary of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and sits on the banks of the river Derwent with its precious eco-system and less than ¼ mile from a public park and local nature reserves
